Together with MED Coalition, a UCLA-based nonprofit, BMANA CA organized a medical mission in Sherpur, Bangladesh, on December 24 and 25, 2025. Our physician members and young volunteers provided consultations to more than 800 patients.
The HOPE Foundation was established in Bangladesh in 1999 to bring quality health care to the most marginalized people in rural Bangladesh, especially women and children. Its hospital also played a key role in caring for Rohingya refugees. Hope Foundation has hosted BMANA CA members on several medical missions over the years and our members raised $7,500 to support it.
In 2024, Bangladesh was hit by devastating floods. BMANA CA members raised more than $7,000 for people in need, distributed through BMANA Central and the Chief Adviser's disaster relief fund.
BMANA CA members partner with other humanitarian organizations including Sonar Bangla Foundation USA, Humanity Beyond Barriers, SABAA, and more. Our members help organize fundraising events and provide medical support to patients.
We pair medical students, residents and new physicians with experienced BMANA CA members for guidance on clinical rotations, research opportunities, residency applications and interview preparation. Young physicians also join our medical missions and present their work at the annual convention.
Our summer health camp brought free screenings, health education and one-on-one time with BMANA CA physicians to families in our community.
Through our partnership with World Telehealth Initiative (WTI), our members provide care to underserved patients in Bangladesh and Kenya. Physicians who would like to take part are welcome to contact us.
BMANA CA physicians led a free health seminar at the 2026 FOBANA convention, sharing practical guidance on prevention, screening and healthy living with the Bangladeshi-American community.
